Designed and created a new J2EE/Web consulting practice for TimeBridge Technologies. Primary activities included hiring and managing resources, project management, methodology development, and developing training materials.

Qwest directed our team to complete architecture and design work for migrating a system from Forte distributed architecture to a WebLogic J2EE platform. They were attempting to move away from proprietary archictectures to a proven industry standard approach.

We conducted business and technical analysis to determine the needs of the client and the implications of migrating a large sophisticated application to a completely new platform. Then, we assembled preliminary design approaches to migrate business objects and completed J2EE/Corba prototypes on Oracle platform to prove the feasibility of the approach.

Architecture Overview:
The proposed architecture for the new Qwest Consulting Plus system was defined by using Enterprise JavaBeans as the primary business objects. EJBs were to replace Forte Service Objects for encapsulating business logic into reusable components.

The presentation tier was either to be composed of sophisticated JavaServer Pages (JSPs), or downloadable Java applets. Due to the complexity of the interface, the team considered using full Java Swing applications hosted in a Citrix environment.
