Colorado DMV License Plate Ordering System
Designed and built a new J2EE Web-based system that allows the Colorado DMV to order bulk and custom license plates from the Colorado Department of Corrections. This goal of the system was to provide unified Web-based ordering capability to maintain just-in-time inventories at branch DMV offices.
Filled various project roles including business analyst, designer, developer, and customer liaison. The system was successfully delivered to client with additional functionality on time and on budget.
Architecture Overview: The Colorado DMV Plate Ordering System utilized a J2EE Web container architecture that was implemented using Tomcat 4.0 server connected to an Oracle 9i database. A standard Model-View-Controller (MVC) front-end architecture was used to promote extendability and reliability. JavaServer Pages (JSPs) communicated with Java Servlet controllers and JavaBean data access objects for displaying and updating data in the database.
The tomcat server and Oracle 9i database were deployed to industrial-strength Sun SMP servers, which were locally hosted and managed. |
