It has been a while since I wrote here. I have been hard at work on a project to rewrite/revamp a commercial document management system for Full Circle Systems in Morrison, CO.
They are a great bunch of folks who have carved out a niche in the oil industry by providing specific document management and accounting functionality in their software that has evolved over the last ten or so years.
Our small development team is tasked with “Web-ifying” the product and modernizing the functionality for today’s needs. No small task indeed, but I am honing my JavaScript DOM programming to be sure.
It looks like the project will last anywhere from 6 to 9 months, but we will see. Working from home 100% of the time is probably the best part, as I have been able to adapt my schedule to my lifestyle. Good stuff.

After doing contract work in the corporate world for many years, I have come to the conclusion that there is a serious need for supplemental technical resources that can be called on to fill the gaps, then sent happily on their way until needed again. For the last 4 years, I have been filling such a role at Starz Entertainment Group (you know…the movie channel). We both couldn’t be happier about the arrangement. They get what they need done - without taxing their full-time employees - and I get some piecemeal work from time to time. I love it!
Imagine…having a “goto guy” that you can always call to get specific jobs done, without the overhead, headaches and management required of traditional employees.
This is a long-term contractual relationship that helps the manager get things done when they need the help. When there is nothing to do for the contractor, he is probably working at another client as a supplemental resource…or at the beach.
Call me crazy, but I think there are plenty of small to mid-size companies out there that would love to have such a dynamic (”On Demand”) and low-maintenance IT technical resource at a reasonable price.
If you like this idea, give me a call!

After redesigning our site, it is ready for prime time. The point of the site is to provide an online brochure of my projects and capabilities to help you see what we can do for you and your projects. I think you will see that quality and presentation are very important to me and I feel it is important to bring this level of detail and quality to my client projects.
If you are looking for a sloppy, quick hit fix - I am probably not your guy. If you are looking for the best quality (with practicality in mind), I may be your guy.
I am using the top open source content management system called Joomla, combined with professional graphic templates from RocketTheme to quickly build high-quality and robust sites (as you can see here). If you like what you see here, you should see the unlimited possibilities. See the Web Design Projects section of this site for some more examples of what I can do for your Website.
I am looking for a “few good clients” that I can do supplemental IT and small project work over time. Contact me at 303-204-7849 if you think I may be able to help you!
